Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver outstanding patient experiences by providing personalized recommendations for eyewear and eye care services.
  • Develop and maintain a loyal customer base through exceptional customer service and referrals.
  • Stay up-to-date on the latest industry products, procedures, and technologies to provide expert advice to patients.
  • Manage patient calls and orders, ensuring timely and accurate communication.
  • Assist patients in selecting frames, lenses, and lens treatments, taking into account their specific needs and preferences.
  • Provide education on proper eyeglass and contact lens care to patients.
  • Collect and interpret patient data, including eye and face measurements, to ensure proper fit and vision correction.
  • Collaborate with optometrists and ophthalmologists to interpret prescriptions and create work orders for lab technicians.
  • Follow up on pending orders, verifying timely delivery and communicating with patients as needed.
  • Dispense glasses, inspecting for proper fit and quality, and making adjustments as necessary.
  • Perform eyewear adjustments and repairs using various tools and techniques.
  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace, adhering to company standards and regulations.
  • Restock retail displays and merchandise, ensuring a visually appealing store environment.
  • Provide expert advice on product issues, analyzing problems and answering patient questions accurately.
  • Collaborate with technicians, front desk associates, managers, and optometrists to ensure seamless patient care.
  • Sell miscellaneous products, such as cleaners, contact lens supplies, and sunglasses.

    Requirements

    • High School Diploma or equivalent.
    • Minimum one year of experience working as an Optician, preferably in a retail or optical setting.
    • Experience with HIPAA requirements is a plus.
    • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and excellent communication skills (verbal and written).
    • Excellent customer service skills and a pleasant demeanor, with experience in sales a plus.
    • Manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination.
    • Dependability and punctuality.
    • Ability to lift up to 30lbs, bend, kneel, and stand for up to 8 hours a day.

    Physical Demands

    This role requires the ability to communicate and exchange information, utilize equipment necessary to perform the job, and move about the office.
