Position Overview

The Financial Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing the post-award processes related to grants, ensuring meticulous budget and expense analysis, timely invoicing, and comprehensive financial reporting. This role plays a crucial part in maintaining the financial integrity of our projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conducts thorough analysis of budgets and expenses related to grants, ensuring accuracy in financial reporting and reconciliations.
  • Generates precise financial reports for internal stakeholders regarding donor contributions and grant activities.
  • Records and manages monthly financial activities, including pledges, bad debts, and credit card transactions within the general ledger.
  • Reviews and processes invoices, assigning appropriate account codes to maintain proper accounting practices.
  • Communicates monthly financial results to relevant program staff, providing insights into the financial status of grants and programs.
  • Ensures compliance with grant regulations, internal policies, and accounting standards such as ASC-606.
  • Prepares monthly reconciliations for bank accounts and other financial accounts.
  • Creates journal entries to accurately reflect revenue, contributions, and designations.
  • Assists in the transition and upgrade of accounting systems, providing training and documentation for procedural updates.
  • May participate in budget preparation and forecasting, effectively managing resources to meet organizational goals.
  • Implements and refines processes to enhance operational efficiency and achieve strategic objectives.
  • Embodies the core values of the organization, demonstrating leadership qualities and commitment to team success.
Qualifications & Skills for Success
  • A minimum of four years of relevant experience in accounting or finance.
  • A Bachelor’s degree in a related field; equivalent experience may be considered.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends as needed.
  • Proficiency in multiple languages, particularly English and Spanish or Creole, is advantageous.

Salary: $55,000
