Position Summary

The Optical Systems Research Engineer will collaborate with the Principal Investigator (PI) and their research team to innovate and implement optical technologies aimed at detecting endogenous molecules. This role is crucial for quantifying functional information related to cellular and tissue activities. The engineer will apply established engineering research methodologies to enhance research projects focused on optical microscopy and quantitative image analysis. Ideal candidates are those who demonstrate self-motivation, curiosity, and independent critical thinking.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conducts research under the guidance of the PI.
  • Refines research methodologies and protocols.
  • Analyzes and assesses outcomes and conclusions from research initiatives.
  • Contributes to the preparation of progress reports and academic publications.
  • Performs additional tasks as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Science, or a related discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Essential Skills and Competencies:
  • Awareness of current technological advancements in the field.
  • Ability to interpret research data and formulate recommendations.
  • Proficient in designing, organizing, and managing scientific and engineering research projects.
  • Capable of conducting thorough analyses and devising solutions to scientific challenges.

  • Competence in engineering and scientific design and testing methodologies.
  • Solid understanding of engineering, science, and mathematical fundamentals.
