Job Overview

FASTSIGNS #20108 is seeking a skilled Graphic Designer/Production Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our production team, you will be responsible for creating high-quality visual communications and signage solutions for our clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and produce computer-generated full-color graphics and vinyl output for various applications.
  • Modify and complete designs from customer drawings, files, or exact output of customer-provided design for output to media.
  • Determine size and arrangement of illustrative material and copy, select style and size of type, and arrange layout based upon available space, aesthetic design, and production requirements.
  • Inspect jobs for accuracy before sending them to output and ensure correct material is used for each job and output device settings are accurate.
  • Maintain customer logo library and convert graphic files.
  • Follow a layout to place computer-cut vinyl or full-color graphic image(s) on a predetermined substrate or medium.
  • Prepare substrates for vinyl application, including cutting, laminating, cleaning, etc.
  • Weed excess vinyl from computer-cut images, using various techniques depending on size, type of vinyl, and complexity of images.
  • Operate and maintain industry-leading printers, plotters, and laminators.
  • Perform quality assurance measures pre- and post-production by accurately reading and interpreting a Work Order and then proofing for errors or unacceptable standards.
  • Perform finishing operations such as laminating and/or mounting of printed pieces.
  • Report inventory levels and stock to be reordered to the center manager/production manager or franchisee.
  • Clean and maintain work areas.
Ideal Qualifications
  • 1-2 years of graphic design experience.
  • Experience designing and/or creating signage.
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Proficient in Adobe Illustrator.
  • Ability to prioritize jobs, multi-task, and work autonomously.
  • Able to lift 50lbs.
  • Determine the best output method based on the customer's needs.
  • Sit and view a computer screen for long periods (4 hours or more).
  • Ability to work under pressure to output high-volume, high-quality work.
