Director of Athletics Communications

The University of Oklahoma is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of Athletics Communications to join our team. This role will be responsible for serving as the primary communications contact for OU's softball program and one additional sport. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in marketing, communications, and public relations, with the ability to develop and execute creative digital and social media content strategies. The successful candidate will also have excellent writing and editing skills, with the ability to produce high-quality written content, features, and news releases. Additionally, the candidate will be responsible for managing website content, arranging media interviews, and traveling to select away events. This is a unique opportunity to work with a talented team of professionals and contribute to the success of the University of Oklahoma's athletics department.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and execute creative digital and social media content strategies for assigned sports
Produce high-quality written content, features, and news releases
Manage website content for assigned sports
Arrange media interviews and travel to select away events
Assist in all aspects of office activity and in coverage of other sports and events as required
Requirements
The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Graphic Design, Communications, or a related field. The candidate should also have 2+ years of experience in a related field, with a strong background in marketing, communications, and public relations. Additionally, the candidate should have excellent writing and editing skills, with the ability to produce high-quality written content, features, and news releases. The candidate should also be proficient in Microsoft Office and have a strong understanding of social media platforms.
