About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Sous Chef to join our culinary team at Afton House Inn. As a key member of our kitchen staff, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest standards of food quality, presentation, and service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Food Preparation and Presentation: Prepare and cook a wide variety of dishes to meet the specifications of our guests in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Inventory Management: Manage the kitchen inventory, ensuring that all supplies are fresh, of high quality, and properly stored.
  • Team Leadership: Supervise and mentor junior kitchen staff, providing guidance and support to ensure that they meet the highest standards of performance.
  • Sanitation and Safety: Ensure that the kitchen and all equipment are clean, organized, and sanitized at all times, maintaining a safe and healthy working environment.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Maintain and repair kitchen equipment, including knives, grills, ovens, steamers, and warmers, to ensure optimal performance and efficiency.
  • Opening and Closing Procedures: Take charge of kitchen opening and closing procedures, ensuring that all tasks are completed efficiently and effectively.
Requirements
  • Proven experience as a Sous Chef in a high-volume kitchen environment.
  • Excellent culinary skills and knowledge of food preparation and presentation.
