Position Details: This part-time hourly role starts at $15.00 and includes benefits. The position is based in Santa Fe, NM, at our Hotel St. Francis.

Role Purpose: Under the guidance of the Restaurant Manager or Assistant Manager, the Food Service Runner will facilitate the delivery of meals from the kitchen to the dining areas, providing essential support to the front-of-house team. Responsibilities include setting tables, serving food orders, and clearing used dishes and utensils. This role is ideal for individuals looking to gain experience in the hospitality industry and enhance their skills in delivering exceptional dining experiences. Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends, is required. Your goal will be to ensure that guests enjoy a high-quality dining experience by delivering their meals promptly and accurately.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Restaurant Manager or Assistant Manager in daily operations.
  • Maintain open communication with kitchen and front-of-house staff regarding tasks and timelines.
  • Exhibit a positive and professional demeanor towards colleagues and guests.
  • Adhere to all nutrition, sanitation, and safety regulations.
  • Ensure cleanliness and a professional appearance of the dining area.
  • Support table settings by delivering courses, replenishing utensils, and attending to beverage needs.
  • Prepare dining areas for service, ensuring proper setup and cleanliness.
  • Address guest inquiries and resolve issues promptly and professionally.
  • Assist with guest seating and serve food or non-alcoholic beverages as needed.
  • Process checks and cash following established procedures.
  • Prepare silverware, set up food stations, and assist with large parties as required.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned that align with the responsibilities of this position.

Qualifications:
  • Current New Mexico Food Handler Certification is required.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment for extended periods.
  • Must be capable of lifting, pushing, reaching, and carrying 30+ pounds regularly.
  • Strong verbal communication skills and the ability to multitask effectively.
  • Preferred experience includes 6 months to 1 year in a high-volume or fine dining setting.
  • A high school diploma or equivalent experience/training is required.
