Position Overview
We are seeking a skilled and enthusiastic Source Inspector to become a vital part of our team. Kaman Specialty Bearings & Engineered Products, a division of Kaman Corporation, excels in the design and production of advanced mechanical products utilized across various sectors including aviation, marine, and industrial applications.
This role operates on a first shift schedule, with hours from 6 AM to 3:30 PM, including a mandatory hour of overtime at the beginning of the shift to fulfill a 45-hour work week. Overtime compensation is provided at 1.5 times the hourly rate for hours exceeding 40 in a week.

Key Responsibilities
- Maintain current customer and industry certifications and training for DSQR delegation.
- Prepare products and necessary documentation for customer presentation or source inspection as a Designated Supplier Quality Representative.
- Verify compliance with customer purchase order requirements and authorize product shipments.
- Assist in Internal, Operator, Process, and Customer Audits as necessary.
- Conduct visual and dimensional inspections of mechanical components and assemblies, ensuring adherence to tight tolerances.
- Identify defects in surface quality, dimensions, and workmanship, reporting non-conformities to the Quality Supervisor and cell leader.
- Utilize various conventional and advanced inspection tools to confirm dimensions against drawing specifications.
- Adhere to productivity and quality standards while following established work procedures.
- Maintain accurate records, data, and logs, creating inspection forms as required.
- Navigate software and computer files to gather necessary inspection items and utilize tools like Microsoft Excel for data presentation.
- Provide leadership and training as needed, ensuring production schedules are met.
- Uphold a clean and safe working environment, following safety and environmental regulations.
- Propose improvements to work processes and contribute to 5S initiatives in the workplace.
- Deliver exceptional service to all internal and external customers, fostering a positive team environment.
- May be required to work extended hours to meet customer demands.
- Perform additional duties as assigned and participate in cross-training for other positions.
Qualifications
Education:
- High school diploma or GED.
Experience:
- Minimum of 2 years of inspection experience in a manufacturing setting.
