Job Summary

This is an impactful and strategic role for Optum Insight, leading a team of compliance professionals focused on operating an effective compliance program in partnership with the broader enterprise compliance program and providing strategic leadership to our business partners.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide Leadership and Guidance: Offer strategic direction and guidance to Optum Insight executive leadership and business teams on compliance and ethics issues.
  • Establish a Culture of Compliance: Partner with the business leadership team and the compliance leadership team to establish a top-down culture of compliance and ethics.
  • Lead the Compliance Team: Lead the Optum Insight compliance team in partnership with the enterprise compliance team to ensure an effective compliance program designed to detect, prevent, and correct compliance issues, including:
    • Develop and Implement Policies: Develop, implement, and update as needed policies, procedures, processes, and best practices across Optum Insight to promote compliance with applicable laws and contractual obligations.
    • Develop Training and Awareness: Develop, implement, and update as necessary training, awareness, and educational materials and programs to support compliance, ethics, and privacy agendas.
    • Conduct Monitoring and Risk Assessments: Conduct routine monitoring and annual compliance risk assessments working with enterprise risk management, internal audit, and other stakeholders.
    • Enforce Standards: Enforce standards through well-publicized disciplinary guidelines in partnership with the People team and other stakeholders.
    • Respond to Offenses: Respond promptly to detected offenses and undertake corrective action.
    • Provide Analysis and Insight: Identify relevant information to provide analysis and insight for executive leadership and board of directors/audit committee reporting.
  • Manage Communications and Issue Resolution: Manage communications, issue resolution, and overall compliance engagement with regulators on behalf of Optum Insight businesses in partnership with legal and business teams.
  • Influence and Collaborate: Influence, lead, and collaborate with enterprise legal and compliance partners and with matrixed business partners across the enterprise.
  • Stay Current on Emerging Trends: Keep current on technological advancements and emerging tools within data science and compliance technology fields, leading the organization in compliance innovation.
Requirements
  • JD or Relevant Advanced Degree: JD or other relevant advanced degree preferred or at least 10 years of relevant compliance and regulatory experience.
  • Strong Knowledge of Compliance and Regulatory Matters: Strong knowledge of compliance and regulatory matters relevant to the health care industry.
  • Strong Communication and Business Acumen: Strong communication skills and business acumen.
  • Self-Starter with Proven Track Record: Self-starter with proven track record of driving results in heavily matrixed environments.
  • Strong Leadership Skills: Strong leadership skills with demonstrated ability in managing and developing others, including leading large teams.

Preferred Qualifications
