Position Overview

Salary Range: $21 - $26 per Hour

Role: Alcohol and Drug Abuse Counselor/Substance Abuse Associate

Location: Las Vegas, New Mexico

Licensure Requirements:

  1. Possession of an Associate's, Bachelor's, or Master's degree.
  2. Completion of 90 hours of classroom training in counseling or substance abuse from an accredited institution, or 90 hours of Continuing Education Units (CEUs), with training provided if necessary.

Accepted Licensures in New Mexico:

  1. Licensed Substance Abuse Associate (LSAA)
  2. Licensed Alcohol and Drug Abuse Counselor (LADAC)
  3. Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC)
  4. Licensed Master Social Worker (MSW)
  5. Licensed Baccalaureate Social Worker (LBSW)

Clinical Supervision: Ongoing support will be provided to ensure compliance with licensure standards.

Key Responsibilities:

The Alcohol and Substance Abuse Counselor/Associate will be tasked with delivering essential services to adults facing substance use challenges. Core responsibilities include:

  • Facilitating group and individual counseling sessions
  • Providing client education
  • Implementing motivational enhancement strategies
  • Developing treatment and discharge plans
  • Managing cases and referrals
