Position Summary
The individual in this role is tasked with guaranteeing optimal guest service and satisfaction for both external and internal patrons through the effective organization and oversight of designated areas in accordance with established Slot Department guidelines and protocols. This role involves acquiring knowledge of and enforcing the various policies and procedures pertinent to the Slot Department.
Key Responsibilities
PRIMARY DUTIES:
(The following duties are intended to provide a general illustration of the work performed in this position and are not exhaustive.)
- Oversee the operation of Electronic Gaming Devices (EGD) within the assigned area during the designated shift.
- Ensure that all staff are informed of and adhere to all relevant Federal, State, and internal policies, procedures, and regulations.
- Responsible for the training, development, guidance, and necessary disciplinary actions for team members within assigned parameters.
- Manage team members within the Slot Department.
- Accountable for the overall direction, coordination, and assessment of this unit.
- Execute supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.
- Responsibilities include training personnel, planning, assigning, and directing work; evaluating performance, rewarding, and disciplining employees, addressing complaints, and resolving issues for both employees and guests.
- Perform duties consistently while adhering to all relevant gaming regulations.
- Other responsibilities as assigned.
ADDITIONAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Participate in seminars as necessary.
Qualifications
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
(Related education and experience may be interchangeable on a year-for-year basis)
- High school diploma or equivalent. This knowledge and these abilities are typically acquired through a minimum of 1-year supervisory experience. Previous experience in slot operations and the gaming industry is strongly preferred.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Must obtain and maintain all necessary licenses/certifications as per Federal, State, and gaming commission regulations.
- Must successfully pass a background check.
- Must successfully pass a drug screening.
- Must be at least twenty-one (21) years of age.
- Must be available to work on holidays and weekends, as well as flexible shifts and/or unusual hours.
- Prior experience in the gaming industry is strongly preferred.
- Prior experience in launching new properties/outlets is strongly preferred.
KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED:
- Relevant federal, state, and local laws, codes, and regulations.
- Operations related to Hard Rock and slot machinery.
- Policies and procedures, along with the ability to identify various cheating techniques.
- Game manuals, policies, procedures, and a demonstrated ability to coordinate or supervise the work of others.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Deliver a service level that fosters an environment encouraging guests to return, providing each guest with a positive and memorable entertainment experience.
- Exhibit an image of enthusiasm, excitement, and an outgoing personality while maintaining a professional appearance.
- This position requires time spent on the gaming floor, subject to varying levels of crowds and noise, which depend on guest volume.
- Observe and guide the actions of subordinates/trainees.
- Review and comprehend all necessary documentation.
- Read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Compose routine reports and correspondence.
- Communicate effectively before groups of guests and team members.
- Apply common sense to carry out instructions provided in written, oral, or diagram form.
- Address problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
- Utilize computers effectively.
- Handle large amounts of cash responsibly.
