Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Plant Operations Manager to join our team at Ball Corporation. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for ensuring the plant meets the group's overall business plans and objectives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee the overall safety and environmental performance in the plant, ensuring compliance with Ball safety and environmental programs.
  • Support the selection, training, and development of shift and staff personnel to attain organizational goals.
  • Develop and implement effective food safety systems and ensure compliance with quality standards.
  • Provide direction and support to plant operations, including production, engineering, quality, and lean initiatives.
  • Facilitate and partner with all functions in the preparation of the plant's operating budget.
  • Ensure the plant complies with all environmental regulations and maintains effective environmental programs.
  • Initiate, review, and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) for area of responsibility.
  • Support positive employee relations in the plant, including with local/national union leadership, if applicable.
  • Comply with environmental regulations when using, dispensing, or handling hazardous and non-hazardous materials and wastes.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, or Supply Chain preferred (MBA highly preferred) with broad training in a related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of job-related experience.
  • 4 years of manufacturing leadership experience (high-speed manufacturing/packaging preferred).
  • Willingness to relocate for future opportunities.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Demonstrated successful experience using statistical and continuous improvement principles in manufacturing.
  • Highly matrixed/high growth organization experience.
  • Working knowledge of company policies, procedures, and products; general administrative principles, practices, nomenclature, and procedures; generally accepted managerial practices and procedures; business principles, legal practices, customer needs and expectations, and manufacturing operations.
  • Ability to participate with functional counterparts within the organization at the earliest stages of planning/development to meet plant objectives; directing, allocating the plant's resources, timing, etc.
Compensation and Benefits
  • This role will be based on site in our Rome, GA facility. Relocation assistance will be considered.
  • Hiring Salary Range: $106,100 - $151,900 (Salary to be determined by the applicant's education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data).
  • This role will be eligible to participate in the annual incentive compensation plan.
