Job Summary

The Director of Facilities will provide strategic direction, oversight, and support for the management of school campus facilities and grounds.

  • Manage the regular workflow and systems of the physical plant to provide a safe, healthy, and productive environment for students, faculty, and staff.
  • Develop and implement a facilities maintenance plan, setting strategic objectives and ensuring client satisfaction.
  • Lead, train, and develop direct reports, including maintenance manager, janitorial manager, and landscaping manager.
  • Establish standardization and maintain consistency with best-in-class educational facility management practices.
Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and manage budgets for facilities, including operating and annual, long-term, and project budgets.
  • Manage the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) reporting and tracking, analyzing data to benchmark operations and drive improvement.
  • Perform and document scheduled inspections of facilities.
  • Provide project management services, including obtaining bids, selecting vendors, and ensuring project completion on time and within budget.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local environmental and safety regulations.
Requirements
  • 5+ years of experience as a Facilities Manager overseeing department managers.
  • Experience with preparation of, and adherence to, annual facility budgets and long-term capital plans.
  • Hands-on experience in the building maintenance field (MEP).
  • Bachelor's degree (B.A. or B.S.) from a four-year college or university or comparable experience in the field.
  • High proficiency with computers and technology, including CMMS systems.
Preferred Qualifications
  • APPA Certified Educational Facilities Professional (CEFP) designation.
  • BOMI Real Property Administrator (RPA) designation.
  • IFMA Certified Facility Manager (CFM) designation.
  • IREM Certified Property Manager (CPM) designation.
