Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Certified Athletic Trainer to join our team at Mass General Brigham. As a key member of our Sports Medicine team, you will be responsible for providing medical coverage and athletic training services to a local high school athletic program.

Key Responsibilities
  • Comprehensive Management of Sports Medicine Program: Develop and implement a comprehensive sports medicine program for the assigned high school athletic program, including injury prevention, assessment, and treatment.
  • Immediate Assessment and Care: Provide immediate assessment and care for injuries to student-athletes participating in interscholastic athletic teams.
  • Preconditioning and Conditioning Programs: Plan, implement, evaluate, and modify appropriate preconditioning, conditioning, and reconditioning programs for athletes as defined in MGL c. 112, s. 23A.
  • Athletic Training Services: Provide athletic training services to student-athletes participating in sports (games and practices) held at home sites and away sites.
  • Practice/Event Coverage: Coordinate practice/event coverage for the Athletic Department, communicating with appropriate parties regarding the schedule of events.
  • Communication and Documentation: Communicate with athletic administration, coaches, parents, primary care physicians, and specialists regarding injury diagnosis, treatment, injury trends, medical and health alerts, etc. Document and track athletic injuries via the established documentation system.
  • Injury Prevention Programs: Design, implement, and carry out injury prevention programs with student-athletes, based on sport-specific injury trend reports.
  • Mass General Brigham Values: Use the Mass General Brigham values to govern decisions, actions, and behaviors, guiding how we get our work done and how we treat each other.
Qualifications
  • BOC Certification and MA Licensure: BOC certification and MA licensure as an Athletic Trainer are required.
  • Education and Experience: A Bachelor's degree is required, and 1-3 years of relevant experience is preferred.
