Job Title: Senior Field Engineer

Lithko Contracting is seeking a highly skilled Senior Field Engineer to join our team. As a Senior Field Engineer, you will play a key role in guiding and supporting layout teams, ensuring quality and accuracy throughout the project lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist less experienced layout teams in establishing control points and benchmarks for their projects.
  • Double-check control information provided by third parties, and communicate any discrepancies back to the general contractor.
  • Teach layout teams how to analyze drawings to find solutions and organize RFIs for field drawings.
  • Provide training on proper layout techniques, checking instruments, and reviewing larger project drawings.
  • Guide layout teams in double-checking OT's models, including the use of CAD when applicable.
  • Assist the OT team with points and address the specific needs of each layout team.
  • Assess field engineers' capabilities, offering guidance and support to help them succeed.
  • Oversee instrument maintenance and inventory.
  • Assist in startup plans for pour sequences and breaks, ensuring smooth execution.
  • Review formwork for dimensional accuracy and constructability.
  • Participate in interviewing new layout personnel.
  • Learn and implement Tekla in project workflows.
  • Teach layout teams how to maintain field drawings for accurate records (e.g., Embed Shops).
  • Guide teams on using TOPO for as-builts on slab elevations using tools like PlanGrid.
Requirements and Qualifications:
  • 10+ years of experience in layout work on high-rise buildings or as a Field Engineer.
  • CAD experience is a plus.
  • Ability to travel 25% to Jacksonville, with Orlando as the base location.
