Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Transmission Line Designer to join our team at Sargent & Lundy. As a key member of our design team, you will be responsible for developing transmission line plans and profile drawings, transmission/distribution line hardware details, material lists, and grounding details.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop transmission line plans and profile drawings
  • Design transmission/distribution line hardware details
  • Prepare material lists and grounding details
  • Collaborate with engineering staff to interpret input from various sources
  • Accompany project team members on walkdowns at client facilities
  • Interface with vendors and construction contractors to explain drawings and make design adjustments
Requirements
  • Associate's Degree in drafting or equivalent technical experience
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD
  • At least 5 years experience in design/drafting of Transmission Lines
  • Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principles involved in production of technical plans, drawings, and models
  • Ability to visualize parts in 3D without the aid of the computer
  • Ability to multi-task from project to project
  • Strong communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Attention to detail
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience using Microstation, PLS-CADD, AutoCAD Civil 3D and/or GIS software
