Job SummaryWe are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Nursing Supervisor to join our team at NeuroBehavioral Hospital in Crown Point. As a Nursing Supervisor, you will play a critical role in planning, directing, and evaluating patient care, as well as assuming management responsibilities for the nursing department.
Responsibilities- Provide exceptional nursing care by planning, organizing, and directing the nursing functions of patients on the unit.
- Assess patient conditions based on observation, interview, and physician's diagnosis, laboratory findings, and other pertinent information.
- Develop and implement nursing care plans consistent with patient assessment and physician's treatment plans.
- Direct non-professional personnel in implementing nursing care plans and provide guidance and demonstrate appropriate methods to correct deviations from established standards.
- Evaluate patient response to nursing care and modify or revise treatment plans as necessary.
- Administer medications, initiate and maintain intravenous fluids, and perform lab draws and report findings to appropriate personnel.
- Perform Point of Care testing, maintain competency for testing and quality control procedures, and report lab results and document in the patient chart.
- Identify problems and guide personnel to their solution, communicate with other hospital departments to resolve operational problems, and make the most effective use of hospital resources.
- Graduated from an accredited school of nursing; Bachelor's Degree in nursing (BSN) preferred.
- Registered Nurse (RN) in the state of IN.
- One year of nursing experience required.
- Prefer experience in the nursing education and/or psychiatric and acute care setting, but not required.
