About the Role

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Principal Electrical Engineer to join our Electrical and Instrumentation team in Houston, Texas, USA. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for leading and supporting the development of electrical deliverables on various projects, including power studies, electrical area classification drawings, and specification of electrical equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Project Leadership: Lead and/or support a team of electrical engineers and designers on PDP, FEED, and detail engineering projects.
  • Project Scope Development: Develop project scope of work for electrical engineering and design.
  • Project Monitoring: Monitor and advise the department manager of major project changes.
  • Schedule Management: Prepare detail design schedule milestones, staff loading schedules, and man-hour estimates for engineering and design tasks.
  • Progress Reporting: Report progress, update schedules, manage staffing needs, and hourly budget.
  • Engineering Concepts: Establish engineering and design concepts and data for scope assigned to the group and assure technical accuracy and conformance to project requirements.
  • Documentation: Prepare project scope deviations documentation as required.
  • Research and Development: Research suitable solutions, estimated cost, and timescales.
  • Training and Development: Train less experienced engineers.
  • Vendor Review: Review vendor documents.
  • Technical Evaluation: Independently evaluate the selection and/or modification of standard techniques, procedures, criteria, and systems to efficiently meet project objectives.
  • Design and Development: Apply standard engineering design tasks and exhibit a working knowledge of applicable codes.
  • Project Coordination: Plan, schedule, and coordinate detailed phases of work.
  • Design Review: Review and generate design data and/or deliverables from various inputs.
  • Design Excellence: Perform the more sophisticated and complicated designs in accordance with established company standards.
  • Interdisciplinary Coordination: Coordinate details and miscellaneous design criteria with other disciplines.
  • Team Supervision: Supervise, check, and assist other electrical personnel in their assignments.
  • Document Preparation: Prepare and/or supervise and check documents and drawings as required.
Qualifications
  • 15+ years of experience in LNG, Energy Transition, Carbon Capture, Refining, and/or Petrochemical Plant Engineering/Design.
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering.
