Job Title: Database Specialist Level II

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Database Specialist Level II to join our team at Insight Global. As a key member of our database administration team, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining database systems to support our business operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement database systems to meet business requirements
  • Develop and maintain database backup and recovery strategies
  • Optimize database performance using tools such as AWR, ADDM, Explain Plan, and SQL Trace
  • Collaborate with development teams to optimize database queries and design
  • Manage cloud-based database services on AWS (RDS, EC2, S3, Redshift)
  • Utilize database management tools such as DBArtisan, SQL Server Management Studio, pgAdmin, and MongoDB Compass
  • Troubleshoot and resolve database-related issues promptly
  • Provide technical support and guidance to other team members as needed

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a Database Administrator with expertise in Sybase ASE & Replication, Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, and MongoDB
  • Proficiency in operating systems including UNIX (AIX, Solaris), Linux, and Windows
  • Experience with cloud platforms, specifically AWS (RDS, EC2, S3, Redshift)
  • Strong knowledge of database management tools and utilities: DBArtisan, SQL Server Management Studio, pgAdmin, and MongoDB Compass
  • Expertise in performance tuning and optimization using AWR, ADDM, Explain Plan, and SQL Trace
  • Proficiency in shell scripting for automation
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
