Job Summary

We are seeking a compassionate and reliable Personal Care Assistant to join our team at Inspire Health Group. As a Personal Care Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care to our residents, ensuring their comfort, safety, and well-being.

Responsibilities
  • Medication Assistance:
    • Count and verify controlled substances with outgoing staff.
    • Report any missing controlled substances to administration.
    • Prepare medication, bring medication to dining areas during meal times, and assist residents with medication.
    • Assist residents with medication prior to breakfast, afternoon, or after dinner as needed.
    • Monitor residents ingesting medication and properly document.
    • Update medication administration records as needed, after physician visits, and ensure MAR and doctor's orders match.
    • Ensure residents receive necessary documents prior to doctor appointments.
    • Consult and correspond with doctor offices for necessary clarifications.
    • Record all pertinent information regarding residents in the 24-hour log book.
  • Personal Care Assistance:
    • Assist residents in the dining area during meal times by distributing meals.
    • Assist with cleaning the dining area after meals as needed.
    • Distribute facility-provided snacks to residents during evening snack times.
    • Assist residents with showering/bathing as needed.
    • Assist residents with maintaining a healthy hygiene routine as needed.
    • Assist residents by laundering their clothing, linens, and towels as needed.
    • Assist residents with limited mobility as needed.
    • Answer call bells and check residents' whereabouts during rounds.
    • Assist residents with operating the elevator lift.
    • Perform housekeeping and light maintenance tasks as needed, including laundering residents' clothing, linens, and towels, cleaning resident rooms, making residents' beds, unclogging toilets, adjusting room temperature, and salt areas outside the facility.
    • Report all pertinent information to the PCA in charge.
Requirements
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Prefer prior experience with medication assistance.
  • Prefer previous experience, either professional, personal, or volunteer, with the elderly population.
