We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled General Manager to lead our commuter rail operations in a complex and dynamic environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for directing and coordinating the performance of our obligations under the agreement, ensuring safe, efficient, and on-time performance, and providing a customer-first service.
Key Responsibilities- Leadership and Management: Provide strategic direction and leadership to the team, ensuring effective management of operations, maintenance, and engineering activities.
- Contract Management: Manage and direct the performance of subcontractors, suppliers, and vendors, ensuring compliance with contractual requirements and best value.
- Customer Service: Ensure a high level of customer satisfaction, providing a safe, efficient, and reliable service that meets the needs of our passengers.
- Operational Excellence: Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency, safety, and customer experience.
- Collaboration and Communication: Foster strong relationships with stakeholders, including the Authority, contractors, and suppliers, to ensure effective communication and collaboration.
- Education and Experience: Bachelor's degree in Transportation, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience. 20 years of broad and deep experience in railroad operations, maintenance, engineering, contract, and project management.
- Skills and Abilities: Strong written and oral communication skills, ability to make presentations to senior leadership and stakeholders, excellent management and leadership skills, proficiency with Microsoft Office, and knowledge of new technology to improve efficiency and safety.
- Physical Demands: Physically able to conduct inspections and carry equipment used for inspections, prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer, ability to lift up to 50 pounds at a time, and ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
- Competitive Salary: $154,000.00 to $211,750.00 depending on experience and qualifications.
