Key Responsibilities
  • Administer medications to residents as ordered and under the direction of the attending physician, adhering to established nursing standards, policies, and procedures.
  • Accurately and safely prepare, administer, and document oral and/or topical medications ordered for residents.
  • Complete necessary forms, charts, and reports in a timely manner, ensuring accurate and up-to-date resident information.
  • Ensure all medications administered are properly labeled, returned, and reordered, maintaining a safe and organized medication management system.
  • Contribute to a positive and supportive environment by fostering a calm and cheerful atmosphere, promoting resident comfort and well-being.
  • Participate in facility surveys and maintain confidentiality of all resident care information in accordance with HIPAA guidelines.
  • Effectively communicate necessary resident information to charge nurses, director of nursing, and/or administrator, ensuring seamless care coordination.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Current licensure as a Certified Medication Aide in the state.
  • Knowledge of medical abbreviations, symbols, and terms for medication administration.
  • Ability to accurately measure, record, and report vital signs.
