POSITION OVERVIEW

Role Summary:

Ensures a secure and protected atmosphere for patients, healthcare staff, visitors, and assets against negligent, harmful, or malicious actions, safety risks, and fire hazards.


Qualifications:
A high school diploma or equivalent is required for this position.

Licensure/Certification:
A valid, unexpired driver's license is necessary if the role involves driving as part of daily responsibilities.

Experience Requirements:
This position necessitates 0-6 months of relevant experience.

Additional Qualifications:

Must uphold unit-specific and organizational competencies, mandatory training, and any clinical certifications as per the Staff Education and Training policy and/or other departmental standards.

Achieve and maintain CPR certification within the initial month of employment.
Successful completion of the "Safe Patient Handling" training provided by the organization within the first three months of employment.
Completion of CPI Non-violent Crisis Intervention training within three months of employment.
IAHSS Basic Security Officer Certification course to be completed within three months of employment.
FEMA IS-100 and FEMA-200 courses to be finalized within six months of employment.
Complete departmental orientation within three months of employment.
Handcuffing Certification to be obtained within three months of employment.
Demonstrate the capability to effectively respond to emergencies by passing mandatory bi-annual physical fitness assessments (PFT).

Failure to meet the PFT standards may lead to a probationary period followed by termination for not fulfilling the job requirements.

**This applies to all officers hired after a specified date and those hired prior who are part of the organization's Security Department Career Ladder.

*PFT includes a combination of the following activities: 1.5-mile run, stair climb, push-ups, sit-ups, emergency rescue drag, and vertical jump.

Driving may be required as part of routine job responsibilities.
