Cybersecurity Specialist for National Security Projects

Job Summary

ManTech International is seeking a highly motivated and career-oriented Senior Cybersecurity Specialist to join our team in Frederick, Maryland. As a key member of our cybersecurity team, you will play a critical role in protecting our national security by developing and implementing security protocols, standards, and best practices in alignment with industry regulations and organizational requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and Government cybersecurity team members to develop and implement security protocols, standards, and best practices.
  • Perform risk assessments to identify and address security weaknesses in hardware, software, and infrastructure.
  • Develop and maintain documentation, including security plans, risk assessments, incident response procedures, and security awareness materials.
  • Participate in security audits, compliance assessments, and certification processes to ensure adherence to regulatory requirements and industry standards.
  • Develop risk assessments in accordance with NIST guidance and deliver risk analysis and guidance as needed to leadership.
  • Assist in the training of less experienced staff and may fulfill a supervisory role.

Requirements

  • A bachelor's degree
  • A minimum of 7 years of experience in information security analysis or related roles, preferably in Defense Health Agency (DHA)
  • In-depth knowledge of cybersecurity principles, practices, technologies, and standards
  • Experience with security assessment tools, intrusion detection/prevention systems, firewalls, antivirus software, and other security technologies
  • Experience with the NIST Risk Management Framework (RMF)
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to assess complex technical environments and identify security risks
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance
  • Must be able to communicate, converse, and exchange information with peers and senior personnel

Work Environment

The person in this position needs to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.
