Your role will involve:

  • Conducting core architecture and technology investigations, evaluating various options with technical rigor to optimize key power metrics such as efficiency, power density, cost, reduced carbon footprint, and scalability.
  • Being a pivotal member of the display silicon architecture team, contributing new ideas and defining architectures.
  • Defining new power architecture concepts for DC-DC voltage regulators in mobile devices and computers.
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams and power vendors, including silicon and magnetic suppliers, to develop custom PMIC definitions and solutions.
  • Driving the highest levels of integration and technological innovation.
  • Performing thorough design reviews with silicon vendors to ensure top-quality products within challenging timelines.
  • Providing design simulations, calculations, and analytical models to predict design outcomes, including control loop stability and transient responses.
  • Delivering PMIC specifications, simulation test cases, and validation plans/results, with hands-on lab work being essential.
  • Ensuring a smooth transition of new architectures to execution teams, including design analysis, risk assessments, and development lessons learned.
  • Conducting competitive benchmarking and providing technical support for production issue resolution.
  • Leading power seminars and training sessions for cross-functional teams.
  • Exemplifying innovation through teamwork and exemplary behavior.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • Direct experience in power supply design and in-depth knowledge of DC-DC power conversion topologies, including control loops.
  • Familiarity with DC-DC IC architectures, magnetic design, PCB layout, and advanced integration and efficiency optimization techniques.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to guide critical decisions.
  • A solid understanding of thermal, mechanical, and packaging challenges.
  • Knowledge of high-volume manufacturing technologies and production variances.
  • Proficiency in using simulation tools such as Spice, Matlab, MathCad, Cadence, and Excel for mathematical analysis.
  • A comprehensive understanding of silicon physics and processes, including IC packaging technologies.
  • Experience with mixed-signal IC design challenges, with a focus on analog design.
  • A complete understanding of the mixed-signal IC development process from concept to mass production.
  • A self-motivated and detail-oriented approach, with a proven ability to work effectively within cross-functional teams.
  • A track record of success in fast-paced, innovative environments, ideally within power management semiconductor or silicon companies.
  • Willingness to travel internationally as required.

Education & Experience

A Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 10 years of relevant industry experience are required.
