Overview:

The per diem Radiography Technologist Extern, under the guidance of a Certified Radiography Technologist, is responsible for executing fundamental imaging procedures in line with established practices and standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Transport patients using wheelchairs, stretchers, beds, or neuro chairs to specified locations as required.
  • Assist in the preparation of equipment and supplies.
  • Welcome patients, confirm prescriptions, verify providers, and schedule appointments as necessary; liaise with departments to ensure seamless care delivery.
  • Support in patient positioning during imaging procedures.
  • Assist in reviewing patient history and physician orders. Educate patients about the procedures and examinations they will undergo.

Educational and Certification Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent (Required)
  • BLS American Heart E-Card (BLS AHA ECARD) - American Heart Association
  • BLS American Heart RQI E-Card (BLS AHA-RQI ECARD) - American Heart Association
  • BLS Certification Grace (BLS GRACE) - Employee Grace Period for Essential Credential
  • BLS Cert Red Cross (BLS RC) - Red Cross

Additional Information:

The role demands critical thinking, effective communication, sound judgment, and the ability to operate with minimal supervision. Candidates must be capable of functioning in a high-pressure environment and responding appropriately to various situations.
