Overview

Emory Healthcare is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Advanced Practice Provider (APP) to join our Orthopedic Oncology team. As a key member of our team, you will have the opportunity to work with a dynamic and innovative group of healthcare professionals who are dedicated to providing exceptional care to our patients.

In this role, you will be responsible for evaluating and treating patients with orthopedic oncology conditions. You will work closely with our team of physicians and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement comprehensive care plans that meet the unique needs of each patient.

We are looking for an APP with a minimum of 2 years of experience in orthopedic oncology, preferably with a background in acute care. You should be certified as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant and have a strong understanding of the principles of orthopedic oncology.

This is a weekday position that does not require call, overnights, or weekends. You will work in our state-of-the-art MSK Institute at Executive Park in Brookhaven and have the opportunity to participate in first-assist in the OR at one of our hospital sites.

We offer a competitive salary range of $110,000 to $140,000 per year, depending on experience, as well as a comprehensive benefits package that includes student loan repayment and paid parental leave. Our team is committed to providing exceptional care and support to our patients and each other.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate and treat patients with orthopedic oncology conditions
  • Develop and implement comprehensive care plans in collaboration with our team of physicians and other healthcare professionals
  • Conduct patient interviews and document patient histories, psychosocial histories, health status, and medical problems or potential problems
  • Perform physical examinations and specialized diagnostic and/or therapeutic procedures, including cast application and removal, wound suturing, and dressing changes
  • Assist physician in diagnosing medical problems, developing care plans, and prescribing treatment

Requirements

  • Completion of an accredited Acute Care Nurse Practitioner program or Physician Assistant program
  • Currently licensed as an advanced practice nurse in the state of Georgia by the Georgia Board of Nursing and certified as a Nurse Practitioner by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) or equivalent body, or Certified as a Physician's Assistant by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA)
  • Licensed as appropriate in the state of Georgia
  • May require at least one year of direct experience in one or more high acuity clinical specialties
  • BLS and Healthcare Provider certifications required. ACLS may be required in some areas

Physical Requirements

The physical demands of this role include occasional lifting of 36-75 pounds, frequent lifting of 20-35 pounds, and constant lifting of 10-20 pounds. The role also requires occasional standing and walking, occasional sitting, and close eye work.

Environmental Factors

The environmental factors of this role include exposure to blood-borne pathogens, bio-hazardous waste, chemicals, gases, fumes, and vapors. The role also requires use of personal protective equipment, including respirators, and may involve travel.
