Job Title: Orthopedic Advanced Practice Provider

We are seeking a highly skilled Orthopedic Advanced Practice Provider to join our team at Emory Healthcare. As an Orthopedic Advanced Practice Provider, you will work closely with our Orthopedic Joint Surgeon to provide high-quality patient care and contribute to the success of our department.

Job Summary:

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 1+ years of experience in Orthopedic care as an Orthopedic Physician Assistant or Acute Care Nurse Practitioner. You will be responsible for assisting in the evaluation and treatment of patients, documenting patient care, and conducting patient interviews and histories. You will also assist the physician in diagnosing medical problems, developing care plans, and prescribing treatment.

Responsibilities:
  • Assist in the evaluation and treatment of patients
  • Document patient care and medical records
  • Conduct patient interviews and histories
  • Assist physician in diagnosing medical problems and developing care plans
  • Prescribe treatment as needed
Requirements:
  • Completion of an accredited Acute Care Nurse Practitioner program or Physician Assistant program
  • Currently licensed as an advanced practice nurse in the state of Georgia by the Georgia Board of Nursing and certified as a Nurse Practitioner by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) or equivalent body, or Certified as a Physician's Assistant by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA)
  • Licensed as appropriate in the state of Georgia
  • May require at least one year of direct experience in one or more high acuity clinical specialties
  • BLS issued by the American Heart Association and Healthcare Provider certifications required

Physical demands of this job may include lifting 75 lbs max, carrying objects up to 35 lbs, occasional to frequent standing and walking, occasional sitting, and close eye work. Environmental exposures may include blood-borne pathogen exposure, bio-hazardous waste, chemicals/gases/fumes/vapors, communicable diseases, electrical shock, floor surfaces, hot/cold temperatures, indoor/outdoor conditions, latex, lighting, patient care/handling injuries, radiation, shift work, travel may be required, and use of personal protective equipment, including respirators.
