Position Overview: Senior Tax Accountant

The ideal candidate will possess a Florida CPA license or IRS Enrolled Agent certification, coupled with a minimum of ten years of experience in audit and public accounting. This role involves a range of tax-related responsibilities, including but not limited to, tax return preparation, audits, and client bookkeeping.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform external audits of client financial records.
  • Prepare comprehensive bookkeeping for clients on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.
  • Research and resolve tax inquiries while offering strategic tax planning advice.
  • Interpret and apply tax regulations accurately.
  • Develop strategies to reduce tax liabilities by evaluating various tax options.
  • Engage with clients on tax compliance and planning matters.
  • Stay updated on tax requirements through ongoing education.
  • Generate specialized tax reports while ensuring adherence to regulations.
  • Safeguard client confidentiality and contribute positively to team dynamics.

Qualifications:

  • 5-10+ years of experience in Public Accounting with a focus on tax return preparation.
  • Possession of a Florida CPA license or IRS Enrolled Agent certification.
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a Master's degree in Taxation is preferred.
  • In-depth knowledge of complex tax laws.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and analytical abilities.
  • Proficiency in Lacerte Tax, QuickBooks, and Microsoft Office Suite.

Work Schedule:

  • Standard weekdays; Monday to Friday; 9 AM to 5 PM.
  • Availability required during peak tax season with extended hours.
