Youth Development Professional III

The Youth Development Professional III is responsible for assisting with the development and effective operation of a quality school-age childcare program that complies with current Delacare rules for school-age centers. This role requires a strong commitment to providing a safe and supportive environment for children ages 6-12, where they can develop essential life skills, build positive relationships, and achieve their full potential.
Key Responsibilities
• Assist the Childcare or Program Director in delivering a variety of age-appropriate programs and activities that reflect the Boys & Girls Club's five core program areas and Youth Development Strategy.
• Ensure the safe implementation of all programs and activities, including maintaining a clean and organized environment, adhering to safety protocols, and supervising children at all times.
• Collaborate with the Childcare or Program Director to maintain productive relationships with parents, school faculty, and administrators, as well as other visitors to the Club.
• Present yourself as a positive role model for children at all times, demonstrating a strong work ethic, and a commitment to the Club's mission and values.
Requirements
• 20 years of age or older and ability to drive an 8-passenger van (must have a valid driver's license with less than 5 points).
• First Aid/CPR Certification, or completion of certification within two months of date of hire.
• Must possess a School Age Site Coordinator Administrator certificate from the Department of Education.
• Ability to pass an FBI clearance, State of Delaware Criminal History Background Check, National and State Sexual Abuse Registry check, and National and State Child Abuse Registry Check per DelaCare regulations.
Work Environment
The Youth Development Professional III will work in a fast-paced environment, interacting with children, parents, and staff on a daily basis. The role requires flexibility, adaptability, and a strong commitment to providing exceptional service to our members and their families. The work environment is dynamic, with varying meeting locations in and out of the Club, and occasional statewide travel for training and professional development.
Physical and Mental Requirements
The Youth Development Professional III must be able to maintain a high energy level, be comfortable working with children in varying levels of physical activity, and perform duties effectively under stressful conditions. The role requires the ability to lift, carry, or move objects weighing up to 25 pounds, and to bend, stoop, walk, and sometimes run on a regular basis while interacting with children in various activities throughout the day.
