- Investigate and document any deviations from quality benchmarks, implementing corrective actions as needed.
- Work collaboratively with production and maintenance teams to resolve quality-related issues and enhance processes for improved product quality and safety.
- Maintain precise records of quality tests, inspections, and corrective measures, ensuring adherence to regulatory standards.
- Assist in developing and implementing quality assurance protocols, training programs, and initiatives for continuous improvement.
- Engage in internal and external audits, providing necessary support and facilitating corrective actions for audit findings.
- Communicate effectively with cross-functional teams, including production, research and development, and management, to align on quality goals.
- Stay updated on industry trends, best practices, and regulatory requirements related to food safety and quality assurance, integrating new insights into quality management systems.
- Act as the primary contact for Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP) activities, including the development and maintenance of HACCP plans.
- Must hold certification as a Preventive Controls Qualified Individual (PCQI) and oversee the development and implementation of our food safety plan in accordance with FSMA regulations.
Qualifications:
Minimum of 3 years of experience in quality assurance or quality control, ideally within a food manufacturing context. Strong knowledge of food safety principles, quality management systems, and regulatory requirements (e.g., FDA, GMP, HACCP). Proven leadership abilities with a track record of coaching and developing a team. Exceptional attention to detail and analytical skills, capable of interpreting data and making informed decisions. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and familiarity with quality management software is advantageous. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively and drive positive change. Adaptability to a fast-paced environment and the ability to manage shifting priorities and deadlines. Demonstrated problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to identifying and resolving quality challenges. Willingness to work flexible hours and weekends as necessary to support production and quality initiatives.
