Position Overview
The Senior Manager of Technical Operations is tasked with overseeing the ABAP, EDI, Basis, Security, and .NET teams, enhancing their skills and capabilities to align with organizational needs while also advancing existing competencies to tackle emerging technical challenges and skill deficiencies. This role manages a blend of onsite and remote personnel across various technology stacks, collaborating with dynamic workgroups that include Developers, Functional and Business Analysts, and cross-functional business team members to ensure that business objectives are achieved through technically proficient solutions.
An adept Senior Manager who excels in both Enterprise Applications development initiatives and personnel management. This individual should possess the capability to deliver intricate projects and be comfortable engaging directly with business stakeholders and/or project management. Responsibilities include overseeing landscape architecture and establishing best practices for technical design. In this capacity, you will guide all technical disciplines, supervise technical solution design, proactively manage the systems landscape and architecture, and cultivate a highly effective team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide technical leadership and be accountable for refining and evolving development standards, frameworks, guidelines, and methodologies.
- Oversee the design, development, performance validation, and testing methodologies to ensure that technical solutions meet quality standards.
- Foster proactive, responsive relationships with IT team members and business users to comprehend forthcoming business requirements and provide insights into development capacity planning and utilization.
- Design, develop, and implement quality solutions across the application landscape that are maintainable, advocating for the appropriate use of development, customization, and related best practices.
- Ensure a consistent level of service and problem resolution through the management of tickets and system issues, conducting root cause analysis, and applying lessons learned to prevent recurrence of previous issues.
- Supervise the quality of deliverables (including design, code, and development reviews) and adhere to established change control processes and release/transport management schedules.
- Manage resource allocation, capacity utilization, and the delivery of development teams.
- Guide the work efforts of team members (both onsite and remote) and provide mentorship and support to promote success and growth.
- Contribute to IT project governance reviews and ensure the necessary application governance in alignment with our standards.
- Proactively seek to understand business needs and propose solutions that align across business units; drive vision and strategy for the team and applications; maintain a strategic understanding of how the group's technology contributes to Information Systems and strategy.
- Identify opportunities to coach and recognize employees directly, providing timely feedback for reflection and improvement.

Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's Degree in Business, Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field.
- 7+ years of experience in SAP development.
- 7+ years of management experience in application architecture, design, and implementation.
- 5+ years of demonstrated experience in people development, with responsibilities for performance reviews, guidance, and mentoring of team members.
- 5+ years of hands-on experience troubleshooting and debugging complex integrated applications within SAP.
- In-depth knowledge of the data model of various SAP applications and table structures is essential.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Expertise in Landscape Architecture for SAP and non-SAP environments hosted on-premises and in the cloud.
- Experience with hosting SAP and non-SAP applications in a hyperscaler environment (e.g., AWS).
- Strong ABAP development experience in SAP S/4HANA environments.
- Solid understanding of SAP security concepts.
- Extensive knowledge of Basis.
- Proficient in EDI development using IBM B2Bi applications.
- Working knowledge of .NET programming.
- Good understanding of various functional areas such as FI, SD, MM, PP, and WM.
