Position Overview:


As a Client Support Specialist, you will play a crucial role in delivering comprehensive case management, crisis intervention, advocacy, and service referrals to individuals affected by domestic violence, sexual assault, teen dating violence, stalking, or human trafficking.


Key Responsibilities:


1. Provide essential support services to clients, including case management, crisis intervention, advocacy, and referrals to relevant services for survivors of domestic violence and related issues.

2. Develop personalized case management strategies that encompass ongoing safety planning, identifying obstacles, establishing objectives, and formulating actionable plans.

3. Act as a supportive advocate for clients, fostering a positive environment through effective problem-solving and conflict resolution, ensuring a safe and secure community living experience.

4. Serve as a liaison between clients and various service providers, maintaining up-to-date knowledge of available resources to facilitate care coordination and advocacy.

5. Occasionally assist clients with transportation to court hearings, service appointments, and other necessary activities.

6. Organize and implement public awareness initiatives aimed at educating survivors about their rights and available services.

7. Conduct regular meetings with clients to evaluate progress, address barriers, and achieve case management objectives.

8. Maintain precise and ongoing documentation in client files after each interaction, including in-person meetings and phone communications.

9. Complete all required paperwork and reports, ensuring compliance with data collection and grant reporting standards.

10. Participate in weekly team meetings and complete all mandatory training sessions.

11. Facilitate or co-facilitate support groups as assigned and engage in community relationship-building on behalf of the program.

12. Provide court advocacy when necessary and perform additional tasks as assigned.



Supervisory Role:
No supervisory responsibilities.

Qualifications:

Educational Background:
Associate's degree from an accredited two-year college or technical institution; no substitutions allowed.

Experience:
A minimum of two (2) years of experience in a related field is required.

Technical Skills:
Proficiency in database software, internet applications, and word processing tools is essential.

Certifications:


Must hold a valid driver's license with a driving history that meets Cherokee Nation underwriting standards.


Additional Requirements:


The employee must not be under sanction by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services Office of the Inspector General (OIG) or the General Services Administration (GSA), nor listed on the OIG's Cumulative Sanction Report or the GSA's List of Excluded Providers.

The employee must successfully pass periodic background checks and meet the requirements for child care adjudication.


Physical Requirements:
While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, and sit. Frequent communication through speaking and listening is necessary.

Occasional physical activities include using hands for various tasks, reaching, climbing, kneeling, and lifting weights up to 25 pounds.

No specific vision requirements are necessary.


Work Environment:
Employees may occasionally encounter outdoor weather conditions, and the typical noise level in the workplace is moderate.
