Position Overview:
We are seeking a proficient Technician to enhance our Surface Finishing team. This role is situated within our Research and Development division, concentrating on the quality, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness of single crystal diamond surface finishing processes.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Prepare samples through measuring, mounting, lapping, grinding, and polishing as needed.
2. Conduct cleaning procedures for samples.
3. Collaborate with Engineering on various non-standard tests and inspections.
4. Perform post-surface finishing measurements using WLI and AFM.
5. Carry out minor maintenance on laboratory and machine shop equipment.
6. Update systems and stakeholders regarding backlog and progress.
7. Set up, operate, and maintain lapping and polishing equipment.
8. Prepare lapping and polishing slurries.

Qualifications:
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in a lapping and/or polishing environment.
- Familiarity with mechanical lapping and polishing equipment from manufacturers such as LapMaster, Ravasum, Applied Materials, and Engis.
- Understanding of surface measurement and inspection techniques.
- Experience with lapping, grinding, and polishing machinery.
- Willingness to work night shifts and weekends.

Compensation:
The hourly wage ranges from $27 to $33, with actual compensation determined by various factors including job duties, experience, and expertise. Higher-level candidates will be considered for adjusted salary.
