Executive Chef Job Description

At Westin Governor Morristown, we are seeking an experienced Executive Chef to join our team. As a key member of our culinary team, you will be responsible for overseeing the food production process, ensuring high-quality products and services, and maintaining profitable F&B operations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate and supervise all aspects of food production, including menu planning, inventory management, and staff training.
  • Develop and implement recipes, portion control, and sanitation procedures to maintain high-quality products and services.
  • Monitor food and labor costs, and implement strategies to maximize profitability.
  • Work closely with the Director of F&B to create and implement menus, and oversee the daily operation of the kitchen and food production areas.
  • Ensure compliance with health department regulations, liquor laws, and company standards.
  • Train and develop staff to ensure adequate operation in all outlets.
  • Participate in M.O.D. coverage and attend all hotel required meetings and trainings.
Requirements:
  • A 2-year, 3-year, or 4-year culinary degree and at least 5 years of progressive experience in a hotel or a related field.
  • Previous supervisor responsibility is required.
  • Knowledge of F&B preparation techniques, health department rules and regulations, liquor laws, and regulations.
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize departmental functions, and meet deadlines.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work with all levels of employees and guests.
