**Competitive Salary**


The estimated salary for this position is $35,000 - $45,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.


Job Description:


As a Teller I, you will play a critical role in providing exceptional customer service and ensuring the smooth operation of our banking operations. Your primary responsibilities will include:


  • Cash checks and disburse funds after verifying signatures and sufficiency of funds
  • Accept deposits and prepare official checks and loan proceed checks
  • Process deposits from night deposit boxes, loan payments, withdrawals, currency and coin orders, and safe deposit box payments
  • Evaluate checks to verify endorsements, dates, identification of persons receiving payments, bank names, and overall legality of the documents
  • Enter transactions in our Teller Capture software with accuracy and precision
  • Maintain a neat and organized work area and ensure the safety of all negotiables and confidential records
  • Make sales referrals and suggest alternative banking options
  • Manage risk in every transaction and detect fraudulent transactions to prevent losses
  • Recognize customer needs and introduce new products and services
  • Reconcile cash drawers to our company's balancing expectations

Requirements:


To be successful in this role, you will need:


  • A high school diploma or equivalent
  • Proficient verbal and written communication skills, including excellent telephone etiquette and legible handwriting
  • Active listening skills and the ability to ask questions to clarify/determine customer needs
  • The ability to maintain composure and professionalism when dealing with upset customers
  • Strong attention to detail and excellent math skills
  • Trustworthiness and the ability to act with integrity
  • Customer satisfaction-oriented interpersonal skills to contribute to a productive and team-oriented work environment
  • The ability to lift up to 25 pounds occasionally and stand for extended periods of time
  • The ability to travel, as needed
  • One year of cash handling experience preferred
  • Two years of customer service experience preferred
