The Cashier Lead is a vital role within our Lacoste team, responsible for overseeing all activities surrounding the cash wrap. This position requires a high level of customer service, ensuring that every interaction is friendly, quick, and efficient.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the cash drawer of a primary store register, processing customer and associate transactions accurately and ensuring management authorization is received as required.
  • Develop a strong working knowledge of our store's computer systems to ring transactions, look up merchandise availability, and perform other necessary functions.
  • Capture customer name and address information for each transaction to compile clientele lists.
  • Answer telephones, respond to inquiries, and take merchandise orders, distributing them to sales associates on a rotating basis.
  • Maintain the cash wrap in a neat and organized manner, keeping track of supply levels and notifying management when items need to be reordered.
  • Develop a strong knowledge of Lacoste products to assist customers in locating items.
  • Protect store assets and inventory through awareness of loss prevention procedures, reporting violations to the supervisor and notifying management of suspicious activity.
  • Assist with the implementation of visual directives, receipt of new merchandise, stocking and replenishment of the selling floor, and housekeeping.

Requirements:

  • Prior experience in a retail environment is a plus.
  • Good communication skills are required, with the ability to provide prompt and courteous service to customers.
  • Computer skills, including a retail point-of-sale software system and Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook, are necessary.
  • The ideal candidate must be a team player, outgoing, well-organized, and able to prioritize assigned tasks.
  • Excellent organization skills and the ability to multitask are essential.
  • The ability to perform a wide variety of tasks, often changing assignments on short notice, is required.
  • The candidate must be able to overcome obstacles and deal with customers in a fast-paced, high-volume, and competitive environment.
  • Proficiency in working with numbers to ensure correctness of data produced is necessary.
