Job Summary

As an MRI Technician at New London Hospital, you will play a vital role in providing diagnostic imaging services to patients. Your primary responsibility will be to perform MRI scans according to accepted standards and protocols, ensuring patient safety during procedures. You will work closely with radiologists to review and follow MRI protocols, ensuring all exams are screened and protocoled appropriately. Your expertise will be required to troubleshoot scanner issues, coach and peripheral equipment, and maintain a clean and orderly environment. Additionally, you will be responsible for administrative tasks, including scheduling appointments, answering phone calls, and performing quality control procedures. If you have a strong background in radiology technology and are registered/licensed with the American Registry of Radiology Technologists (ARRT), we encourage you to apply for this exciting opportunity.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform MRI scans following policies and procedures established by the department and proper protocol.
• Adjust patient care based on age-specific needs.
• Use all equipment properly and in a manner that minimizes hazards of electric shock and burns to patients.
• Determine the most suitable position for optimum imaging, protocol, and patient comfort.
• Explain procedures and respond to questions appropriately.
• Scan paperwork into the PAC's System and have proper paperwork filled out (IV contrast paperwork).
• Maintain working knowledge of the PAC's System.
• Demonstrate knowledge of CD Burning.
• Complete patient charges for each exam in a timely manner.
• Transport patients to and from the department.
• Maintain a clean and orderly environment and associated checklist.

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited school of radiology technology.
• Registered/licensed with the American Registry of Radiology Technologists (ARRT).
