Job Summary

As a Diagnostic Imaging Specialist at Yale New Haven Health, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality patient care while performing diagnostic MRI procedures. Your expertise and professionalism will ensure that patients receive the best possible care during their exams.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide and maintain care to patients undergoing exams, ensuring their safety and well-being.
  • Inform and educate patients about their procedures, including expectations and any necessary preparations.
  • Operate diagnostic MRI equipment, including GE/Siemens 1.5/3.0 T magnets, with knowledge and competency.
  • Identify and mitigate hazards within the MRI suite to ensure patient safety.
  • Maintain confidentiality and professionalism in all interactions.
  • Utilize various equipment, such as Meditech, Sun Workstation, Laser Camera, Pulse Oximeter, Power Injector, and other applicable tools, to ensure patient safety and throughput.
  • Meet performance expectations for customer service, teamwork, resource utilization, and staff and self-development.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to ensure smooth operation of the department/unit.

Requirements

Education: Arrt-approved radiology program with two years of experience in radiology required or graduate of an MRI degree program.

Experience: 2-3 years of experience preferred, with the ability to pass an assessment test on current MRI equipment.

Licenses: Arrt MRI required, BLS required.

Special Skills: Willingness to work well with others.
