Youth Development Director for After-School Programs

The Salvation Army USA Southern Territory is seeking a dedicated and passionate Youth Development Director for After-School Programs to join our team in Kerrville, TX.
About the Role:
The Youth Development Director for After-School Programs will be responsible for planning, implementing, and supervising activities within the Boys & Girls Club program area. This includes evaluating activities, supporting priority outcome areas, and overseeing special programs and events. The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to youth development and a passion for creating a positive impact in the lives of young people.
Key Responsibilities:
- Program Implementation: Develop and implement programs, services, and activities that meet the needs of Club members, promoting Academic Success, Healthy Lifestyles, Good Character, and Citizenship.
- Program Evaluation: Monitor and evaluate programs to ensure safety, quality, and appearance of the branch. Prepare periodic activity reports to measure program effectiveness.
- Outreach and Recruitment: Assist in implementing outreach efforts to sustain and increase program membership and participation.
- Program Promotion: Promote and stimulate program participation among Club members.
Requirements:
- Education: High school diploma or G.E.D. required; previous work experience in a related field with children and youth preferred.
- Training and Development: Commitment to actively participate in a Professional Development Plan, including Level II & III Training, and completion of 20 credit hours of Boys & Girls Club of America Spillett Training.
- Certifications: Possess a valid driver's license, CPR, and First Aid Certification (or ability to obtain within established timeframe).
Working Conditions:
The Youth Development Director for After-School Programs will work in an indoor and outdoor recreational environment, with frequent changes in weather and exposure to noise, dust, and dirt. The ideal candidate will be able to work under pressure, multitask, and maintain a positive, professional demeanor in a fast-paced environment.
