Maintenance Mechanic Job Description

The Maintenance Mechanic plays a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our production machinery, manufacturing plant, and grounds. We are seeking experienced individuals with a strong background in mechanical and electrical systems to join our team.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Troubleshoot complex mechanical and electrical systems to identify issues and resolve problems.
  • Perform regular preventive maintenance inspections and service on machines to ensure optimal performance.
  • Conduct routine oil and lubrication checks to maintain machinery efficiency.
  • Install mechanical and electrical upgrades to improve system performance.
  • Record and report damaged, worn, or broken parts for replacement.
  • Install replacement parts for machines to minimize downtime.
  • Investigate and identify the causes of unexpected machine breakdowns.
  • Prepare detailed reports documenting work performed.
  • Maintain a clean and organized shop area, including inventory management and tool control.
  • Coordinate with management to schedule regular maintenance on machines.
  • Perform routine building and grounds maintenance to ensure a safe and healthy work environment.
Requirements:
  • Ability to read and understand mechanical drawings, blueprints, and electrical control diagrams.
  • Experience working with electrical and mechanical industrial equipment and systems.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and mechanical aptitude.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Organized and detail-oriented with a focus on quality and safety.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
Education and Experience:

A combination of vocational or community college education and relevant work experience is required. Technical certifications are a plus.

Physical Requirements:
  • Prolonged periods of standing and walking.
  • Able to bend, stretch, push, pull, and move as needed to reach, clean, and service machinery.
  • Must be able to visually inspect machines.
  • Must be able to climb ladders safely.
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 75 pounds.
