About the Position

FutureFuel Chemical Company is seeking a highly skilled Development Chemist to join our Chemical Technology Department. The successful candidate will work under the direction of an Advanced Scientist, typically a PhD Chemist, to assist in the development of new organic chemical synthesis manufacturing processes and the improvement of existing manufacturing processes.


About the Responsibilities

The Development Chemist will be responsible for:

  • Assisting in the planning and conducting of laboratory projects and investigations of a research or development nature.
  • Assembling laboratory equipment, performing experiments, observing and recording details of experimental work, and documenting the results in memos, reports, and other technical methods.
  • Performing minor maintenance on laboratory equipment and designing and ordering the necessary supplies and parts to conduct chemical synthesis experiments.
  • Interfacing with outside customers and internal peers to provide technical assistance and support.
  • Using a variety of highly technical laboratory equipment to perform research and development type experiments.

About the Requirements

Candidates must possess a strong background in chemistry and have previous experience in a related field. A B.S. in Chemistry is preferred, but candidates with a B.A. in Chemistry or other related degrees will be considered depending on their course completions and experience.
