Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Cardiovascular Technologist/Interventional Extern to join our team at West Virginia University Hospitals. As a key member of our Interventional Radiology and Special Procedures department, you will play a vital role in supporting the delivery of high-quality medical imaging and interventional procedures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the Cardiovascular/Interventional Technologists in the planning and execution of imaging procedures, ensuring adherence to departmental standards.
  • Provide exceptional patient care, including preparing patients for procedures, assisting with sterile tray setup, and maintaining a safe and clean environment.
  • Collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure seamless communication and efficient workflow.
  • Assist with equipment maintenance, troubleshooting, and reporting equipment failures.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of departmental policies and procedures.
Requirements
  • Currently enrolled in an accredited radiology program.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
  • Basic Life Support certification within 30 days of hire date.
Working Environment

The work environment is clinical by nature, with occasional exposure to moving mechanical parts, airborne particles, body fluids, toxic or caustic chemicals, risk of electrical shock, and moderate noise levels.
