Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Cardiovascular Technologist/Interventional Extern to join our team at West Virginia University Hospitals. As a key member of our radiology department, you will provide support for the delivery of medical imaging and interventional procedures, working closely with our experienced team to ensure the highest level of patient care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the planning and execution of imaging procedures, meeting the standards of our department.
  • Greet patients upon arrival and facilitate a positive department experience.
  • Report equipment failures immediately and provide direct patient care as needed.
  • Assist patients in preparing for procedures, including gowning and transferring to exam tables.
  • Coordinate inpatient department flow and maintain communication between departments.
  • Assess patient needs and provide support accordingly.
  • Escort patients to and from procedure suites and assist with arrival and departure.
  • Promote a team approach by interacting positively with technical, support, nursing, residents, and medical staff.
  • Maintain confidentiality of protected health information.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Currently enrolled in an accredited radiology school.
  • Obtain certification in Basic Life Support within 30 days of hire date.
Working Environment

The work environment is clinical by nature, with occasional exposure to moving mechanical parts, airborne particles, body fluids, toxic or caustic chemicals, and risk of electrical shock.
