Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Art Instructional Support Technician II to join our vibrant academic community. This role is essential in providing comprehensive support to the Art Program, ensuring that both faculty and students have the resources they need to thrive in their creative endeavors.

Key Responsibilities

The Art Instructional Support Technician II will be responsible for a variety of tasks, including but not limited to:
  • Assisting in the maintenance and minor repairs of studio equipment, including easels, lighting tools, and other essential art supplies.
  • Supporting the installation and handling of artwork, ensuring a safe and organized environment.
  • Collaborating with the web team to manage the online presence of the Art Department, including updating social media and web content with student artwork and event information.
  • Providing mentorship and support to students during class and open lab hours, fostering an inclusive and encouraging atmosphere.
  • Coordinating studio schedules and onboarding casual staff to ensure smooth operations.

Qualifications

To be considered for this position, candidates must possess:
  • A high school diploma or equivalent, along with two years of post-secondary education in a relevant technical field.
  • A minimum of one year of experience in supporting laboratory activities or similar environments.
  • Strong communication skills to effectively assist students in their artistic processes.

Working Conditions

This position may involve occasional exposure to safety hazards and requires physical effort, including standing, walking, and lifting lightweight materials. Flexibility in working hours, including evenings and weekends, may be necessary.
