We are seeking a highly skilled Billing Representative to join our team at MedStar Health. As a key member of our revenue cycle team, you will be responsible for coordinating and inputting services rendered by providers for multiple entities, researching and analyzing financial data to optimize billing and collection processes.
Key Responsibilities- Coordinate and input services rendered by providers for multiple entities
- Research and analyze financial data to optimize billing and collection processes
- Provide feedback on identified charge submission errors to reduce occurrences and maximize revenue retrieval
- Review and correct registration and charge entry, providing feedback on quality
- Process and complete daily/monthly reports in accordance with established procedures
- Identify problem billing patterns/trends to ensure maximum reimbursement from payors
- Research, analyze, and document financial, practice, and regulatory data and/or reports
- 2 years billing experience in a medical setting required
- 1-2 years experience in professional fee related revenue cycle functions (systems, billing, medical records, registration, finance) or an equivalent combination of education and experience required
- Excellent organizational skills to manage multiple tasks in a timely manner
- Proficient use of registration and/or billing systems
- Ability to identify incorrect data and correct the same
- Strong attention to detail including data analysis and procedure review
- Ability to maintain an appropriate work pace
- Ability to follow verbal and written instruction
- Requires knowledge of basic medical terminology
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and basic computer skills
- Effective oral and written communication skills
- Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills
