Job Summary

The primary role of the Behavioral Health Assistant I is to provide support services to Behavioral Health Providers, including Clinical Supervisors, Social Workers, and Therapists. This position requires strong communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in program maintenance and provide support services to Behavioral Health Providers
  • Coordinate and schedule daily appointments, including managing incoming referrals and making changes to the schedule as needed
  • Provide direct clerical, coordination, and interpretation assistance to BH Providers, including registering new patients and collecting/verifying insurance information
  • Maintain inventory, including ordering and stocking supplies as needed
  • Perform other duties and tasks as assigned by supervisor
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent; AA degree or some college experience preferred
  • State Certified Interpreter preferred; must be eligible for Medical Assistant-Registered Licensure if working at any Behavioral Health site in which Psychiatric ARNP requires support
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) or CPR required or must be able to obtain within first 90 days of employment
  • Two years office experience in a clerical setting preferred; working in a healthcare or behavioral health center preferred
  • Bilingual in English/Spanish required
