Pediatric LPN Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our team at GenCare Solutions. As a Pediatric LPN, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care to our patients with complex medical needs.

Responsibilities:
  • Assist in carrying out rehabilitation programming and activities for patients, including the development of social skills and daily living skills.
  • Provide personal care services to patients, including oral hygiene, bathing, and hair care as needed, nail care, diapering, and dressing.
  • Provide bed care to patients, repositioning, ambulating, and assisting with elimination needs.
  • Administer medications to patients orally, intra-, or via feeding tube subcutaneously.
  • Monitor the effects of medications and record medication administration and patient reactions.
  • Observe and monitor the movement and activities of patients.
  • Assist in reviewing the Medication Administration Record (MAR) monthly and as needed to ensure accuracy.
Requirements:
  • Experience in a pediatric care setting, preferably with medically complex patients.
  • Valid RN license issued by the Florida Board of Nursing.
  • CPR and First Aid certifications required.
  • Ability to pass a Level II background check.
  • Ability to regularly lift and carry at least 50 lbs. safely.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Exceptional time management and attention to detail.
  • Prompt documentation and reporting skills.
  • Knowledge of Registered nursing techniques and methods.
  • Knowledge of medications and treatments used in patient care.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with tube feeding, tracheostomy, wound care, neurological disorders, oxygen dependence, and IV therapy.
  • Experience with premature birth, post-discharge care, chronic lung disease care, feeding - suck/swallow, insulin-dependent diabetes, failure to thrive - poor weight gain, immune deficiencies, renal failure, spina bifida, pre/post organ transplant care, genetic disorders, rare disorders, postsurgical long/short-term care, and colostomy/ileostomy care.
