Key Responsibilities:
The Senior Instrumentation Technician plays a crucial role in ensuring the functionality and reliability of monitoring and recording devices. This position encompasses testing, calibrating, installing, repairing, and inspecting various instrumentation. Additionally, the technician will engage in troubleshooting and preventive maintenance to uphold the integrity of these systems.
Core Duties Include:
- Expertise in various instrumentation, communication, and calibration protocols, including 4-10 mA, 0-10 VDC, Hart Communicator, and PID tuning.
- Coordination of electrical and instrumentation plans across multiple shifts, ensuring effective maintenance and repair of equipment.
- Assistance in maintaining and verifying spare parts inventories for plant machinery.
- Management of repair costs and ensuring timely completion of scheduled work assignments.
- Opening, closing, and completing work orders for necessary repairs.
- Installation, maintenance, and calibration of a wide range of industrial instrumentation.
- Troubleshooting telemetry and process controller hardware.
- Conducting preventative maintenance inspections and diagnosing potential issues.
- Planning and implementing new metering and recording devices, including necessary electrical connections.
- Supporting calibration processes and maintaining accurate records.
- Additional responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications:
Minimum Requirements:
- Associate's degree in a relevant field or a combination of education and experience totaling four years.
- Proficiency in database software and familiarity with WMS Warehouse Management Systems.
- Experience with Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Excel, Word, and Access.
- Demonstrated reliable work history.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in a high-volume food production or manufacturing environment.
- Knowledge of OSHA, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), FDA, USDA, and EPA regulations.
- Familiarity with JDE software.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to perform physical tasks including walking, standing, and lifting up to 50 lbs.
- Occasional exposure to cold or sub-zero temperatures.
