Job Title: Senior Instrumentation Technician

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Instrumentation Technician to join our team at Wm Bolthouse Farms Inc. This is a challenging and rewarding role that requires a strong understanding of instrumentation and control systems.

Job Summary:

The Senior Instrumentation Technician will be responsible for testing, calibrating, installing, repairing, and inspecting monitoring and recording devices. This includes performing trouble-shooting and preventive maintenance, as well as rebuilding equipment as needed. The successful candidate will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact with a diverse employee population and internal/external customers in an effective and professional manner.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Proficiency in various instrumentation and calibration protocols, including 4-10 mA, 0-10 VDC, Hart Communicator, PID tuning, and calibration.
  • Coordinating electrical and instrument plans between shifts, performing technical maintenance and repairs on equipment, and installations.
  • Assisting in creating and verifying current spare parts inventories for plant equipment.
  • Managing and reducing repair costs.
  • Ensuring scheduled work assignments are completed in a timely manner and required documentation is completed.
  • Responsible for opening/closing and completing work orders for repairs.
  • Installs, maintains, repairs, overhauls, calibrates, and tests a wide variety of industrial instrumentation that record, indicate, control, and regulate level, flow, pressure, temperature, position, and water analysis.
  • Troubleshoots telemetry and process controller hardware.
  • Maintains a functional knowledge of the operation of the telemetry system software and hardware.
  • Makes periodic preventative maintenance inspections of all metering control instruments, diagnosing existing or potential trouble.
  • Cleans, lubricates, calibrates, and adjusts as conditions of all metering control instruments as indicated.
  • Plan, install, and place into service new metering controlling and recording devices, calibrating as required, and extend or connect related electrical circuits when needed.
  • Support the calibration of test apparatus and equipment and recordkeeping of said equipment.
Requirements:
  • Associate's degree in a related field or four (4+) years of related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Knowledge of database software, Intranet and Internet software, WMS Warehouse Management Systems.
  • Experience in Microsoft Office: Outlook, Excel, Word, and Access.
  • Proven, reliable work history.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Previous experience in a fast-paced, high-volume food production/manufacturing facility.
  • Prior working knowledge of OSHA, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), FDA, USDA, and EPA regulations.
  • Knowledge of JDE software.
Physical Demands:
  • May be required to walk, sit, stand, reach, climb, or balance, stoop, kneel, or crouch.
  • Ability to lift and/or move 50+ lbs.
  • Occasional exposure to cold (34 degrees) or sub-zero temperatures.
